Brace Your Kids For High School Musical 4
Well before the third installment of High School Musical hit theaters last year, the fourth one was actually already in the works and the story was being written inside the walls of the Disney Channel.
And this week, Disney has announced filming for High School Musical 4 should begin in the next two weeks in Utah.
This will be another TV movie the company has scheduled to air on 2010 on the same channel.
Since the main characters from the first three installments have already graduated from high school, there would have to be a fresh batch of teen heartthrobs to star in this new musical this time around. But given that, does it mean Troy (played by Zac Efron), Gabriella (played by Vanessa Hudgens) Sharpay (played by Ashley Tisdale) and the other cast members won’t even make a special appearance?
Disney Channel President Rich Ross told the press Tuesday, that they may have some of the original cast back and that the fourth musical will “have a new story to tell”.
High School Musical is about young love, friendships, rivalries and kids finding their potentials. The film has launched the careers of Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale and has inspired millions of teenagers around the world. The first two installments ran on the Disney Channel as a TV movie, while the third one, which saw the graduation of the main characters, played in theaters and earned $251 million at the box office, worldwide.
