Fame Remake Cast Now Almost Complete
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the remake of the 1980 musical, Fame, is now almost complete with their ensemble.
Thomas Dekker, now starring in the TV version of the Terminator series, is said to be in negotiations to take on one of the lead roles.
Who else is in the cast? Some rather have familiar names, that is if you’ve been following the dance contests and other shows on television: Kristy Flores, Paul Iacono, Paul McGill, Naturi Naughton, Kay Panabaker (”CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”), Kherington Payne (”So You Think You Can Dance”) , Collins Pennie (Half Nelson), Walter Perez(”Friday Night Lights”) and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle(”Hannah Montana”).
Debbie Allen, who was part of the original cast, is tapped to play a cameo in the remake.
The new Fame movie will be written by Allison Burnett and Aline Brosh McKenna. Choreography will be handled by Kevin Tancharoen for this $25Million project.
Shooting should start this November, with a target release date of September 25, 2009.
Fame tracks the story of young performers in a prestigious school of Performing Arts in New York.
