Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez Deny They’re Dating
One of today’s hottest celebrities, Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez who are both teen crowd drawers, have always been denying that they are a couple even as they themselves speak otherwise. In a previous magazine interview with Twist, Selena has been quoted saying the following about her first date with her latest crush:
- “I had dinner on the beach with a crush and there were lights on the palm trees! Then, went walking on the beach, and after that we slow danced. Wait, it gets better. While we were slow dancing…my crush and I had our first kiss! And after it, I leaned back and I said, ‘You cheated.’ And he said, ‘Why’ and I said, ‘I don’t kiss on the first date.’ Then he said, ‘Well, I never really play by the rules.’ I was waiting for a a director to say, ‘Cut’ I was like, ‘Are we shooting this right now?”
In another magazine interview with Girl’s Life, Nick has been quoted saying:
“On one date, the girl said to me, ‘I don’t kiss on the first date.’ So I said, ‘I don’t follow the rules.’” The brothers high-five to that one. “Ooooh! It was so good!”
Both interviews came out two months ago.
So, should this come as a surprise when Selena says this in one of her latest interviews with TV Guide?
- “I’ve gotten really close to the entire Jonas family this past year. Nick and I are getting to know each other.”
Only, the teen star ends it with, “but we’re not confirming anything.” They could really just be platonic friends who spend a lot of time together.
I realize it’s part of publicity (or un-publicity) when couples do not want their public lives announced. But someone has to coach these kids to talk less about it. It’s just giving fodder for speculations, especially when they always insists it’s not true everytime the subject is brought up.
The times have changed but the manner in which this is handled is still the same: deny, deny, deny.
