Selena Gomez is Unicef Spokesperson
Young star Selena Gomez, the star of the Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place, has been named by UNICEF as their spokesperson for the 2008 Trick or Treat Campaign.
Marking in Halloween, the campaign is to help raise awareness of young kids around the world, in the hopes of realizing that there are also those kids who are far worse off elsewhere.
Says Selena, “I am extremely excited to be this year’s Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF spokesperson. I want to help encourage other kids to make a difference in the world and show them that Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is such a great, fun way to get involved.”
The UNICEF meanwhile is really thrilled to have Selena for their program this year, which incidentally marks its 58th year.
Carly Stern, the president of UNICEF said, “Young people can relate to Selena, and she is a great role model who we believe will greatly enhance the visibility of the program.”
