Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland
If you probably have not heard of it, Tim Burton is doing the film adaptation of Lewis Caroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Shooting has already started in Cornwall, England and Johnny Depp is expected to be in the movie playing the role of the Mad Hatter. Photos from the set were leaked on to the internet, but it had none of Depp yet.
It had a lot of photos with Mia Wasikowska though.
She is Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.
Mia Wasikowska is virtually an unknown in Hollywood. But the young lady is an actress from the land down under, Australia.
Born in the capital city of Canberra in 1990, Mia is quite an accomplished actress even if she just began acting two years ago. She was nominated for her role in the Australian film entry to the Cannes Festival, Suburban Mayhem. She is also part of the cast of HBO’s In Treatment.
She may have never expected to star in a Tim Burton movie so early. She initially set her sights on becoming a professional dancer.
In an interview, Mia Wasikowska said, “I just wanted to try a different type of performance – ballet is more an image of perfection, and fi film can show a grittier side… sometimes it’s the more realistic topic of real life that really intrigues me.”
Of her life in Australia and Hollywood, Mia relates: “I was a bit scared of coming over (to Los Angeles) because it’s so far from what I know and it’s a different world over here. It’s nothing like home and I didn’t warm to this kind of life because this town is so superficial, but I am enjoying it,” Wasikowska says. I have lived in Canberra my whole life and it’s probably the most opposite you can get (to Hollywood). When I leave to come home I will be ready to come home, but it will be so strange going from a busy, crazy life to sleepy Canberra.”
