Today’s earworm: KT Tunstall
For my first post here at www.newcelebwatch.com, I’m going to talk about one of my new favorite artists. Over the coming weeks, leading up to the February 11 airing of the 49th Annual Grammy Awards, I’ll talk about some of the other men and women who have been nominated after being in the spotlight for only a short time.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock or purposefully avoiding commercial radio (and on the latter point I wouldn’t blame you), by now you’ve probably heard a song or three from Scotland’s own KT Tunstall. Her debut album, Eye to the Telescope, has received heavy airplay, and “Suddenly I See” is a featured song on the The Devil Wears Prada movie soundtrack. Now “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” has been nominated for a Grammy for “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (For a solo vocal performance. Singles or Tracks only.)” She’s up against fellow British newcomer Natasha Bedingfield, as well as veterans Pink, Christina Aguilera, and Sheryl Crow. Yahoo Music has partnered with the Grammy Awards and you can watch KT’s video, along with many others, there.
